Ok! So this picture isn't the exact ones I did, but they look really similar! For a project while we were in St. George, my mom got all of the g irls these cute hangings and a board and we crafted all day long while the boys golfed! We also went to Zumba...now that was fun! But we are starting a tradition where each month we paint new 'hanging things' to put on our new boards...what a cute idea eh?
So...speaking of St. George...I have been looking forward to this Easter trip to St George since last Easter trip to St George...and it didn't let me down!! It was SO MUCH fun to spend time with the family!!! And it was warm! We crafted, played beach volleyball and ultimate frisbee, swam, ate out, ate out, ate out :) and just had a good time with the whole extended family! We are all getting so big, it is so wonderful that we can all still get together! I hope that we do FOREVER!! We watched Conference and then had an Easter egg hunt. The best part of it was that TYLER FOUND THE GOLDEN EGG!! Woot Woot! Yes ladies and gentleman, on this Easter Sunday Tyler and I became $50 dollars richer! haha...the Annual Easter Egg Hung is always so much fun! Being with family is a million times better, thanks for a great time everyone!!!!!! Oh and PS? NEXT TIME TYLER AND I GET A DARN BED!!!
Moving on. Right before I Tyler and I went to St George I had a huge project due in my Dress and Humanities Class. I had to create an outfit out of something recycled or like a household item...so of course I used good ol' garbage bags! I ONLY used garbage bags and tape...lots of tape! It was a hard project, but it turned out pretty nice!
The title of my project was 'Dressed In White' so I decided to make a wedding dress. As you can see, I cut off all of the top draw strings and pulled them out....this is how I created the back of the dress for a perfect fit for any size! It cinches up perfect to the body!
After I made this top part, I put a waiste on it and tied it in the back, then I started bunching the bags to tape them on for a skirt part! This was no easy task. Here is another picture of the back of the dress.
After that I decided the back was really cool, but the front was too plain. So that is when I got the part that I tore off of the yellow draw string and I bunched it up for a fashionable scrunch that goes down the top center of the dress.
When the dress was done, we had to have a model wear it down the runway at a fashion show at the school. I was in St George for the fashion show, but I hear it was a big hit! This is a girl trying on my dress to see how it fits.
Sounds like a fun Easter weekend. Glad you are feeling better. And I love the wedding dress. Where were you when I got married? I can't wait to hear what you are having and to see you guys at graduation.
